Fast Folders is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, handle, and share your information when you use the Fast Folders Chrome Extension. By using the extension, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
2. Information Collection
If you opt into Fast Folders Cloud then we will collect the following types of information to provide and improve our services:
- Personal Information: We collect your email address for authentication purposes.
- User-Generated Content: We collect and store folder names, folder colors, chat names, and associated URLs from your Google Gemini interactions to allow you to organize them.
- Technical Information: We collect extension settings (e.g., dark mode preferences, sidebar position).
- Method of Collection: Data is collected directly from your interaction with the Google Gemini website via the extension's interface.
3. Use of Information
We use the collected information for the following specific purposes:
- To provide the core functionality of organizing chats into folders.
- To synchronize your settings and folder structure across devices (for Cloud users).
- To allow you to export and import your data as JSON backups.
We do not use your data for advertising, marketing, or any purpose unrelated to the extension's core functionality.
4. Data Handling and Storage
Local Storage: By default, all data (folder names, colors, chat links) is stored locally on your device using chrome.storage.local. This data never leaves your device.
Cloud Storage: If you enable Cloud Sync, your data is stored securely on servers provided by our third-party processor, Supabase.
Encryption: All data transmitted to our cloud servers is encrypted using modern cryptography (HTTPS/SSL).
Retention: Local data is deleted immediately when the extension is uninstalled. Cloud data is retained as long as your account is active and can be deleted upon request.
5. Information Sharing and Disclosure
No Sale of Data: We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties.
Service Providers: We share information with Supabase solely to provide cloud storage and authentication services. They are prohibited from using your data for any other purpose.
Legal Requirements: We may disclose information only if required by law or to protect our legal rights.
6. Google Limited Use Disclosure
Fast Folders' use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We only use data to provide or improve user-facing features that are prominent in the extension's user interface.
7. User Rights and Choices
In accordance with GDPR and other privacy laws, you have the right to:
- Access, correct, or delete your data.
- Export your data via the "Export JSON" feature.
- Withdraw consent for cloud sync at any time.
